This tea is from the Champawat tea factory in the tea region of Kumaon, India, which borders the Himalayas. This tea region is where the British first planted tea in India, dating back to the early 1850s. A government-initiated program, together with the Birkbeck family has revived the tea growth in this area to create opportunities for more than 200 families, earning wages 5 times more than other tea farms.

This gorgeous broken leaf tea has a light-yellow liquor with a fragrance similar to an oolong tea. It is a solid body tea with a creamy, buttery flavor that is slightly sweet. Unlike most bai mu dan teas, this tea can handle up to 5 infusions with unique clean, floral, woody notes coming through each time.
